Sharlynn Van Tassell



Sharlynn has been in the nursing field for over 23 years and gained extensive experience in multiple areas. She is an experienced licensed/certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a demonstrated history of working in the mental health care industry for the last four years. She enjoys working with all ages across the life span from 3 years old to 98 years old. Her current professional focus is on children/adolescents with ADHD, mood disorders, and behaviors related to oppositional defiance, reactive attachment, and adjustment disorders.

Sharlynn has experience in doing psychiatric assessments and diagnoses, medication management, and crisis evaluations in outpatient settings; both in office and through telepsychiatry. She is also certified in medication assisted treatment (MAT). With such a diverse professional background Sharlynn is happy to be able to see patients with all mental health concerns and assist them towards becoming mentally healthy. She is most passionate working with attention disorders in children and is uniquely trained to differentiate and treat the true diagnosis.

When not working, Sharlynn enjoys spending time with her three adult children and 4 grandchildren. She loves the outdoors, hiking, riding both pedal and motor bikes, water and snowboarding, snowmobiling, and going for long walks with her dogs. She grew up on a dairy farm so has a love for all animals. She especially enjoys rescuing and fostering animals and helping find them new homes.
