Deanne Comfort

Quality of life may be measured in our ability to live, laugh, love, and learn. Deanne wants to help you achieve the highest quality of life possible for yourself through a supportive therapeutic relationship at Brightways Counseling Group.

Deanne is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon. She graduated from George Fox University with her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her approach to therapy with children, teens, adults, and parents is diverse, individualized, and co-created with the client and family to address the concerns or issues that bring you to counseling at this time. Deanne is trained in Sandtray, Play Therapy, EMDR as well as other modalities of therapy to address issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, grief and loss, adjustments, and divorce. She also has post graduate training with the adoption and foster care system, provides parenting support and skill development, and enjoys exploring family systems and generational trauma.

We all come with a rich diversity of life experiences and no one’s journey is straight or without some struggles or challenges. Through a co-created, strengths-based, therapeutic goal, she will walk alongside each person to provide support and encouragement, cultivate skills, and identify strengths to help the individual work toward the goal of a more grounded and peace-filled life.

Deanne was born and raised in Oregon and enjoys spending time with her husband, her adult children, and friends. She loves being outside hiking, biking, walking, kayaking, riding Trail 110 motorbikes, and horseback riding. She enjoys knitting, gardening, and last year she taught herself to weave.
