Childhood, adolescence, and parenting can be complicated and difficult. I believe early intervention and positive support can be key factors to effective change, and I strive to make the counseling relationship safe and encouraging. Together with the client and caretaker we establish your unique counseling goals and develop strategies to achieve these goals.
My counseling services are based on a behavioral therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy approach. I use a variety of evidence-based techniques including education, mindfulness, trauma processing, and positive reinforcement. In my approach to counseling, I use assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning to ensure I provide the best care possible. I have received training in Trauma-Focused CBT, Play Therapy, and am a credentialed yoga instructor. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, parents, and families. While I am qualified to meet a variety of needs, I am most experienced with behavioral issues, parent training, early childhood development, anxiety, depression, ADHD, family and sibling issues, trauma, abuse, and neglect.
I hold a Master of Counseling from Oregon State University Cascades. Additionally, I am credentialed as a Nationally Certified Counselor and belong to the American Counseling Association & the Association for Child & Adolescent Counseling. I am actively seeking certifications in Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Play Therapy, and EMDR.
