The power of the human mind is incredible. I know this to be true in my own experience and believe that our mental health is incredibly important. In the words of St. Therese of Lisieux “my desire is to use the gifts that I have received and pass on the love that has been given to me.” I have been gifted with a compassionate heart and my goal is to be at the service of others, especially those who are suffering with their mental health. I want to be a valuable instrument in people’s healing journey where they can learn sustainable ways to overcome life’s adversities and experience a better quality of life.
Some of the most important passions in are my family, the outdoors, plants, and my faith. Spending time eating and outdoors with my husband and two nephews is just about the most rewarding thing to do, for me. I find joy in admiring flowers, birds, trees, anything nature, really. I’m a farm girl at heart. If I could own a farm now, I would.
Before coming to Brightways, my jobs were all geared towards helping people indifferent ways and that has been so rewarding. However, the medical field has always been where my heart is. I am excited to be working in the mental health field now as it aligns perfectly with my future career goals. I graduated from George Fox university in Newberg, Oregon with a bachelor’s in psychology and mental health. I was recently accepted into a Master of Arts in counseling program at Corban University and will embark on that journey in mid-August of this year. I am so grateful to be here at Brightways and look forward to being part of the team and the invaluable learning opportunities I’m sure I will come across.
