Humans are innately resilient when provided adequate support. I am passionate about empowering adult clients to find their strengths and heal through traumatic/stressful experiences. I believe that people can change in profound ways when they are ready.
My experiences while working in rural community mental health for almost 12 years have shaped my approach to treatment. This work gave me a wide array of clinical experiences with all ages and included extensive crisis work. I have been trained in a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). I started training in EMDR in 2017-2018 and have found that this robust treatment is both appropriate and effective for most of my clients. I am thirsty for further knowledge and skills regarding Somatic Psychology and Internal Family Systems (IFS) treatment.
My educational background includes a Master of Social Work(MSW) from the University of Denver (2008). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both Colorado and Oregon. I recently pursued EMDR Certification through EMDRIA.
