Therapy presents a unique opportunity for people to find solutions/resolutions for challenges life throws at them. Walking with clients to establish a working relationship while providing a safe environment is one of my main objectives. I am passionate about working with people. Developing strengths, identifying past victories, and exploring methods of coping are ways just a few ways to find peace, healing and hope during challenging, traumatic or painful circumstances.
Therapy consists of collaborating on attainable goals and creating treatment plans together. Recognition that changes do not happen overnight, and focusing on the small victories or steps generates motivation towards the goals set. Evidence-based approaches to therapy such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing provide frameworks to achieve identified goals.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon. I graduated with my master’s degree in Marriage, Couples and Family Counseling from George Fox University. I have worked in various settings ranging from Community Mental Health (DBT) to private practice.
