We all face struggles and opportunities in our lives, and I believe we learn and grow in relationship with others. Therapy offers a pathway to identify long term relational and behavioral patterns, identify old skills we have been using, and learn new coping skills. I believe we are all capable of growth and making changes, and that we each have special strengths and resiliency. I value collaboration and curiosity as I accompany individuals in their journey toward greater health and wellness. I honor the diversity of human experience as manifested in each person's life and strive to offer a welcoming therapeutic space that is trauma informed and honoring of all cultural backgrounds. In my free time I enjoy being in nature, exercising, playing music with friends, songwriting, traveling, having adventures with my two adult sons, and cooking.
My approach to therapy is grounded in the therapeutic relationship between counselor and client. It is strength based and psychodynamic (insight-oriented talk therapy). I incorporate techniques and skills from person-centered counseling, DBT, CBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. I draw on my past work experience as a case manager to approach and address needs in a holistic manner. I am bilingual and offer services in Spanish in addition to English. My professional experience includes serving people from a wide variety of backgrounds, including immigrants and refugees, young adults, seniors, people with disabilities, and individuals who identify as neurodivergent.
I have a Master's Degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education in Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon. I have a Bachelor's Degree with a Spanish Major from the University of Washington.
