My therapy style is interactive and welcoming.  My aim is to develop a rapport with you, so that you will feel free to honestly explore your goals and the factors that may be hindering your progress toward them.  I've found that a change in perspective can not only be refreshing, but may be exactly what you need to take the next step in your personal growth.  Humor and self-compassion are essential in my own life, and this is reflected in my therapy sessions.  My goal is to help you be curious, rather than judgmental, as you explore areas (past or present) that may be difficult or painful, but are integral to your mental health and wellness.

I am a licensed professional counselor with over 17 years of experience in the mental health field.  I have worked with a range of ages and populations, treating depressive, anxiety and mood disorders, substance abuse issues, relationship issues and personality disorders.  I utilize a number of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), based on the needs and goals of each individual I work with.

I hold a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and a Bachelor of Psychology from Northern Arizona University.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Arizona and Oregon.
