I am committed to helping people navigate and better understand themselves and their relationships through exploring the challenges we all experience as human beings. Therapy is a deeply personal experience. It takes courage and will be challenging at times. Yet these periods also offer an invitation for growth and change. It is appropriate for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of themselves and is willing to make a commitment to do the necessary work. I create a safe, encouraging and engaging environment.
I am a licensed psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience working in the mental health field. My work focuses on supporting individuals who are undergoing difficult emotional experiences such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, professional stress, relationship problems, substance abuse, trauma and other concerns. I have an eclectic approach and have training in many modalities including Cognitive Behavioral(CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Positive Psychology, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), to name a few. I take a Strengths Based and Trauma Informed approach to my work.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and a Master’s degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University. I am passionate about helping people find relief, renewed meaning and purpose to live more satisfying lives. If you are struggling, I can help. Hope, insight, change and creative possibilities are some of the gift’s therapy can offer. I consider it a privilege to be a part of your process.
